I bought the whole set which was very expensive, but it looked so good in the videos and I thought it would make things easier. I love how the feet on the chucks are magnetic which makes it easy to change from one to the other. They are easy to clean. The major problem I have is that I couldn’t get my piece centered in the chuck. I finally figured out the problem is that the alighment plate isn’t centered on the wheel head. I took it off and used clay to hold the chuck and got my piece centered just fine. I’m disappointed that I will have to center the chuck and hold it with clay instead of the plate I had high hopes.
The consistent centering structure is hands-down the best part; switching between chucks is super easy and seamless. This genuinely saves me time. It also cleans up perfectly!
When trimming pieces that are just a touch past leather-hard, I use a little extra clay to help keep them steady. They can slip slightly at that stage, but nothing a small nub of clay won’t fix.
The company itself is fantastic, too, they’ve gone above and beyond to make sure my orders were placed, delivered, and put to use without a hitch. Truly great people making genuinely great products. Thanks for making my studio life so much easier!

If you are a high school Ceramics Teacher this tool is exactly what you need for your art room. Setting up the alignment plate is easy and trimming on the chucks is intuitive. I installed the alignment plate on one of our wheels to set up a permanent "trimming station" and it's been a big hit with my high school students. This tool is so user friendly that many of my students can sit down and get started with very little instruction. If you are a home Potter or an Artist working in a community studio this tool would also be great for you. The Ultimate Set comes with a variety of chucks ensuring that you always have the right sized chuck for the piece you're working on. My favorite part of The Footer is that it doesn't have lots of little parts and pieces meaning that all students have to do is pick out the chuck they want to use, get a loop tool & get started!
