Not cheap but useful

Of course this is basically the same as a (free) well-thrown, centered and dry chuck, but with the advantage of not needing to be thrown, centered or dried. You are at the mercy of the tolerance of the bat pin placement, but even in the large studio space I share, it’s been close enough to centered to be useful. I do worry that with time the plastic bat pin holes will loosen but so far so good.
